La Défense

This complex area spans three communes: Puteaux, Courbevoie and Nanterre. The district extends over both the interior and exterior of the ring road and was divided into 4 main areas in 2011: Arche Nord, Arche Sud, Esplanade Nord and Esplanade Sud. We have been working in La Défense since the 1990s. It all began in the 1970s with the development of the Areva and ELF towers by Saubot-Julien. We’ve now worked on over 15 developments within the business district. Working alongside international firms, we ensure that the full process from design to completion is carried out while respecting the original idea behind the project. One of the most significant examples of these collaborations was the EDF tower when we ensured that Ieoh Ming Pei (from Pei Cobb Freed & Partners) was able to implement even the tiniest details of the tower he’d designed - a pure, simple and extremely elegant building. Since then, we have worked on a series of ambitious projects including high rise towers First, Dexia, Carpe Diem, Quatre Temps, the Window building and, most recently, the Alto tower which forms part of the district’s redevelopment through to 2025.
